Singer /pianist\, song writer\, educator and ex-teacher t o Sam Smith\, Joanna Eden has run music weeks for families at Othona for o ver 10 years! She says:
\n \n"My philosophy is to get everyone involved whatever their age\, experience or level of skill. The only essential criterion is a love of music! Everyone can partici pate as much or as little as they please. There is no requirement to read music or to perform in fro nt of others\, although there are many opportuniti es to do just that if you wish to.
\n \n"I have a big passion for songwriting for fun\, heali ng and self-discovery. There’s so much joy in maki ng music together and I love to be the glue that m akes that happen and sometimes I’m the power surge to give everyone the confidence to enjoy their mu sic. I believe that’s a human right!
\n \n" Please bring an instrument if you have one (not es sential). Bring your complementary skills too! Our attendees often end up running a session in their skill eg. salsa dancing\, djembe drumming (we hav e hand drums)\, circle dancing\, harmony singing\, campfire songs."
\n \nJoanna is joined by her partner\, Uruguayan bass player\, guitarist an d composer Andrés Lafone who specialises in Latin American rhythms.
\n \nParents of children under 10 are asked to accompany their child for al l sessions they attend.
