The smuggling and shipwrecks of times p ast. The watersports and ecology of today's Dorset . There's so much to see and do.
\n \nPlent y of holiday activities around us\, of course\, wo rk out pretty expensive\, especially for a family*. But with Othona's local knowledge we pl an to enjoy shared outings that won't cost you a f ortune.
\n \nHow about an adventurous walk followed by time on an indoor climbing wall? A swi m and a deluxe picnic on a sandy beach after watch ing kitesurfers leaping high in the air? Or challe nge yourselves in a scavenger hunt through beautif ul woodland where the ghosts of Roman soldiers sti ll tread their road that is now our footpath? Lear n about fossils in an award-winning museum and hun t for them yourself on the most likely beaches? Ho w about 2\,000 year old manmade caverns followed b y a fishing trip round the bay? And what's available back at Othona? T able tennis and boules outdoors\, plus plenty of b oard games indoors. Getting creative in the Four S easons Studio? A drum circle or a firepit? Maybe a games tournament\, music making or a 'talent sho w'? Or you could just relax and hang out!
\n \nWe can't make all the activities on offer full y accessible\, but of course no outing is obligato ry.
\n \nPlease let us know when you book if you will not be bringing your own transport. We encourage donations from those w ho are provided with lifts for outings and there w ill be some out of pocket expenses on day s out (not included in the cost o f the week).
