Join choir leader Susannah (
“Suus”) Gooch for a sun-fuelled weekend of joyful
harmony singing.
\n As the days reach their l
ongest and the sun it's highest\, we’ll gather to
learn songs that celebrate the life and energy of
this magical time of year.
Expect thr ee and four part harmony songs\, both long and sho rt\, known and unknown\, all taught by ear in Suus ' friendly\, fun\, accessible style. No experience is needed.
\n \nWe'll spend time each morn ing singing together in the chapel\, with the afte rnoon free to explore the beach\, swim in the sea\ , or relax in the shade with a book... there is mu ch to do! In the evenings\, we might sing again be fore we eat\, or visit St Catherine's chapel to ex plore the beautiful acoustics. After supper we wil l have some optional informal song-based entertain ment - either a sing-a-long with the piano\, or a few rounds of the infamous Song Pong game.
\n \nSuus' workshops are about the connection\, p resence and joy that arise through shared song. Sh e brings expert musicality and a light energy to c reate sessions that will have you humming all the way home\, invigorated by feet-tapping rhythms and beautiful harmonies.
\n \nSuus is a choir leader based near Bristol. As a former director o f a choir at the University of Gloucestershire and co-director of the Gasworks Choir in Bristol\, Su us is also an accomplished song arranger\, ceilidh leader and violinist. She is a Natural Voice practitioner\, meaning her workshops are open to all regardless o f musical background or experience. Everyone's voi ce is welcome - all you need is a willingness to c ome and learn.
