ur Quiet Weeks give you loads of unprogrammed spac
e to use as you wish. But all within the welcoming
context of community meals\, shared times in chap
el and interesting company. These are not silent r
etreats\, but you'll find certain times of day and
parts of the building will be kept talk-free.</p>
\n \n <p>Quiet Weeks are gently led by experienced
guides – on this occasion we are delighted to wel
come back <strong>Nicky Temple </strong>who writes
:</p>\n \n <p>"I’m really thrilled to be offering
another retreat as an Othona Quiet Week. What a gi
ft it is to take time out to be still\, refreshed\
, restored and find The Divine waiting amongst the
lives we are living. </p>\n \n <p>We will be givi
ng space to storytelling over the course of four d
ays. With four poems as reference we will journey
through the seasons of our lives telling our stori
es of suffering\, grief and endings as well as tho
se of joy\, hope and contentment. Each poem will i
nvite you to reflect on different aspects of your
life\, looking back\, noticing the the present and
looking a little way ahead. You will have the opp
ortunity to delve more deeply into what brings you
life\, what has been painful and challenging and
what hopes and dreams are still waiting to unfold.
</p>\n \n <p>Using the tools of guided meditation
 \, song\, movement\, lectio-divina\, silence\, rit
ual and group storytelling we will enter a safe\,
supportive community and hold each other in love a
nd kindness. </p>\n \n <p>Having led many retreats
now\, I am convinced that telling our stories in
a safe space and allowing ourselves to be seen mor
e deeply\, is one of the most powerful things we c
an do for our healing and freedom. It never ceases
to amaze me how rich this can be for everyone - b
oth the listening and the sharing. </p>\n \n <p>I’
m really looking forward to entering this sacred s
pace with you and seeing what Love will do amongst
  us.</p>\n \n <p>As for me\, I'm drawn towards a c
ontemplative spirituality in which stillness\, sil
ence\, centering prayer and connection with nature
are highly valued\, with more liturgically focuss
ed practices. My faith has become more integrated
into the here and now\, and the line between sacre
d and spiritual has disappeared – for me wild swim
ming\, eating with friends and cuddling our Yellow
  Labrador are all spiritual practices.</p>\n \n <p
 >I still find myself rooted in the christian tradi
tion and am a mystic at heart and intentionally wa
lk this path\, gaining more understanding of the d
epths of the mystic's road as I travel. I frequent
places of unfamiliarity and mystery knowing that
they contain great gift. As part of this journey\,
God has many names which I discover to be liberat

 omfort and belonging." <br />\n  </p>\n \n <p><em>
