Inspired by Nature - Creative retreat with Sandie Cottee

Join Sandie Cottee for a gentle, intuitive week of creativity and connection.

    Monday 21st to Friday 25th September 2026

    Monday 21st September -  Friday 25th September 2026

Space is available on this event

Join Sandie Cottee for a gentle, intuitive week of creativity and connection.

With its sea wall, beach, open skies, and the ancient St Peter‑on‑the‑Wall chapel nearby, Othona is the perfect place to slow down. The landscape invites wandering, noticing, and making — the perfect setting for gentle exploration and creativity.

Mealtimes provide structure to the day and there is a communal dining room.  Meals are plentiful and homemade, with special diets catered
for.  Please be sure to let us know of any special requirements.

Each morning, as a gentle start to the day, you are welcome to join Sandie for a 15‑minute Qi Gong practice before breakfast. Or you may choose to linger in bed or go for an early morning walk. The choice is yours and each day can unfold however you choose.

Each day there will be a range of creative activities using nature as inspiration. A fixed programme could be restricting, so Sandie brings a core structure, and plenty of ideas and materials so that you can respond to the weather, the group’s interests, and the moments that arise naturally. This opportunity of time and flexibility can lead to a deeper connection so that it becomes a more meaningful experience.

We have our own art studio and private lounge, alongside Othona’ s peaceful gardens, veranda, and cosy communal spaces. And of course, your own personal space where you can rest and relax.

Evenings are flexible - perhaps a film night, a coming together for a quiet activity or shared conversation – or feel free to retreat to your own space.  There is no expectation, it’s whatever is right for you.  In this place where the horizon stretches in every direction and land meets the sky, we will be there to honour the autumn equinox. If the sky allows it, we will watch the moon rise over the horizon. Sometimes, the timing is perfect!   Will you be there to watch with us?

Here is feedback from a previous attendee:

‘Just to connect with you again, before I start the morning Qi Gong practice that you got us into. Your retreat was not only inspiring

creatively, but I had not expected to feel so ‘in flow’ with our group. Once we started, such gentle beauty and integrity poured into

our days and the synchronicities were so life affirming - letting me know that what we were doing was the right place / right time and allowing an occasional sense of having ‘all the time in the world. Thank you, Sandie’
